Emotions and Music

“Emotions don’t need words. They can break” – Quetzal

It’s been a while since I’ve dealt with emotions in a truly deep manner.

“I’m an artist. I shape what i convey. Be careful what I say. It defines me anyway” – Me

“I love me and I love you too/ All the same, but totally different. Learn to accept me/learn to accept you” – Me

I wrote the last two lines when I wrote songs for my Master’s class. I was so heartbroken from the experience that teaching had left me. I still believe that heartbreak is what caused me lose it a year later in 2010.

“Trust is established by dialogue” – Freire

“Tolerarte a mi/ tolerarte a mi es amor” – Me

“Dime para amarte/ Di la verdad/ amarte tolerarte es vivir en paz”

Again the topic of loving yourself and being true to yourself is important. If you can’t love yourself then you won’t be able to love others. It’s loving and appreciating others that allows us an human beings to understand “the other.” From understanding comes empathy and then love/peace. However, everything starts with communication. As human beings, we all need love and to be heard. I’m very thankful for the people that i have in my life.
